Product Description
Citric acid (CA), also known as citrate, has the chemical formula C6H8O7. It is an important organic weak acid, appearing as colorless crystals with no odor. It easily dissolves in water, making the solution acidic. In biochemistry, citric acid is an intermediate in the citric acid cycle (also known as the tricarboxylic acid cycle) that occurs in the metabolism of all aerobic organisms. Citric acid is widely used as an acidity regulator (according to GB2760-2014), flavor enhancer, and chelating agent.

Citric acid is a versatile additive for food, beverages, medicines, and dietary supplements, as well
as cleaning and disinfecting products.
In food industry, Citric acid is used to boost acidity and enhance flavor in soft drinks, juices, wines,
powdered beverages and candies, and act as a preservative and antioxidant in creams, fats,
mayonnaises, dairy products and ice creams.
