Diammonium phosphate, also known as diammonium hydrogen phosphate (DAP), is a compound fertilizer containing nitrogen and phosphorus. Diammonium hydrogen phosphate is a kind of quick acting fertilizer with high concentration, which is easily soluble in water and less solid after dissolution. It is suitable for various crops and soils, especially for crops that are fond of nitrogen and need phosphorus. It can be used as base fertilizer or topdressing, and should be applied deeply. Diammonium phosphate means that the standard product contains 8% N1Chemicalbook and 548% P2O. The crystal shape is rhombic crystal. The solubility in water at 25 ºC is 71%. The pH of its saturated solution reaches 8, which is much higher than that of monoammonium phosphate. As the saturated solution of diammonium phosphate is alkaline, it can reduce the fixation of iron and aluminum on phosphorus in acid soil, so it is recommended to use diammonium phosphate in acid soil.
